Bantwal: Unscientific excavation of hill poses danger to huge water tank

Bantwal, July 11, 2022: Unscientific digging of a hill has now posed danger to a huge water tank   at Uppugadde near Panemangalore. The water tank was built under Integrated drinking water supply project.

 

The land below the tank is owned by some private people and they have  excavated the land which has loosened the soil posing danger to the tank, complain locals.

Locals had in fact complained to the TMC when excavation had begun and the TMC officials had cautioned the land owners and asked them to resort to the work scientifically. Still the work was carried out unscientifically resulting in the present problem.

TMC officials have visited the spot and have put up plastic sheets as a temporary measure.
