Belthangady, November 28, 2024: Three nursing students drowned while taking bath in the river near a dam at Moodukodi in Belthangady taluk on Wednesday.
The deceased are Lawrence (20) from Edapadavu in Moodbidri, Sooraj (19) from Parenki in Belthangady and Jaison (19) of Vagga in Bantwal taluk.
The three youth had come to attend a function in the residence of Walter in Moodbukodi village on account of the Venur church feast. After having lunch, the three had been to the river near Barkaje dam in the village and were washed away due to strong water current.
The bodies were later retrieved. Venur police have registered a case. All the three young men were studying in a nursing college of Mangaluru.
