Belthangady: Congress worker assaulted during victory procession of BJP candidate

Belthangady, May 15, 2023: A Congress worker was injured and hospitalized after he was attacked allegedly by BJP activists during the victory procession of BJP candidate Harish Poonja at Perady in Belthangady taluk.
As the procession was proceeding through Perady, Dayananda Poojary who was standing on the roadside was pulled into the procession by BJP workers and asked him to rejoice along with them. When Dayananda refused, he was reportedly attacked.
Former MLA Vasanth Bangera, defeated Congress candidate Rakshith Shivaram and others visited the hospital to enquire the health condition of Dayananda.
Venoor police are investigating the case.
