Bengaluru man drowns in sea near Ullal

Mangaluru, December 30, 2024: A 45-year-old man from Shivajinagar in Bengaluru drowned in the sea at Someshwar, near Ullal, on Sunday. The Ullal police gave the name of the deceased as Sajjad Ali.
The police said that Sajjad Ali and 10 others were on a tour of different places in the State and came to Mangaluru on Sunday. After visiting Ullal Dargah, Sajjad Ali and his family members came to Someshwar beach. Sajjad Ali rushed into the sea seeing his brother’s daughter struggling in the water and was also caught in the current.
Local swimmers rescued the girl and also brought back Sajjad Ali to the shore. He was taken to a nearby hospital where he was declared dead, the police said.
