Mangalore, Oct 2, 2013: Hundreds of students under the aegis of the Bharath Seva Dal celebrated Gandhi Jayanthi at Gandhi Park near town hall on October 2, Wednesday. Prior to the event, students took out a Prabhathaberi procession from Jyoti Circle to Gandhi Park.
DC N Prakash garlanded the statue of Mahatma Gandhi and urged the students to follow the path of peace and non- violence.
On the occasion, 106 year old Nati Vaidya Nittoni was felicitated for his contribution to the society.
Additional DC K Dayanand, SP Shanthanu Sinha, MLC Capt Ganesh Karnik, MLC Monappa Bhanday, former mayor Shashidhar Hegde, Pradeep Kumar Kalkura were present in the programme.
