Mangalore, May 21, 2013: Bishop of Mangalore Dr Aloysius Paul D’Souza felicitated J R Lobo, MLA, Mangalore (South) with a shawl, memento and citation at Bishop’s House on May 21, Tuesday.
Speaking after receiving the honour, Lobo said that it was not possible for him to get into the position without God’s blessings and it was gained through the support of the people. He thanked the people of Mangalore South Constituency for electing him as their representative.
Bishop said that the MLA must work for the development of the district and welfare of the people without discrimination of caste, creed and religion.
He also honoured Political Awareness Committee Convener M P Noronha, Co-convener Roy Castelino and its members for helping Lobo in his election campaigning.
Advocate M P Noronha said that the recent fanatic attack was nothing but moral policing and it were the attacks on the constitution and freedom of expression. He hoped that with Lobo representing the people, there would be peace and harmony.
