Mangaluru, Oct 29, 2022: The body of a man from Moodushedde who had jumped into the  Phalguni river from the Gurupur bridge on Thursday evening, was found on Friday afternoon.

The deceased Ashok Kumar who was residing at Shivanagar in Moodushedde was a painter by profession. Ashok who had married in 2017 and has a son was  a divorcee.

It has been gathered that he had attempted suicide  seven years ago reportedly due to depression.

Before committing suicide on Thursday evening, he had spoken to his brother-in-law and had then left his footwear, mobile phone and scooter on the bridge.

Bajpe police are investigating the case.
