Mangaluru, October 12, 2024: Bollywood actor Sanjay Dutt was captivated by the exceptional talent of young Pili Vesha (Tiger Dance) performers in Mangaluru. The celebrated actor attended the ‘Oodu Pooje’ ceremony, adding a touch of stardom to the cultural spectacle that is unique to Tulunadu. The ceremony took place during the 10th Sharada Huli Tiger Dance event, organized by Friends Ballalbagh-Biruver Kudla at Ballalbagh on Saturday.
Dutt’s presence lent an extra sparkle to the lively celebration, which highlights the region’s rich cultural heritage. His participation in the Oodu Pooje, an essential ritual in the tiger dance tradition, made the occasion even more significant. Uday Poojary, founder of Biruver Kudla, gave Dutt a warm welcome as the actor joined in the traditional prayers offered to the deities.
As a token of appreciation, the organizers presented Dutt with a Pili Vesha headgear. Biruver Kudla also honored achievers from various fields, including Padma Shri awardee Harekala Hajabba, during the event.
