Brahmavar: Leopard falls into forest department cage in Hanehalli

Udupi, Nov 5, 2023: A leopard that wandered into the village near the Nagaradi bus stand, Hanehalli Gram Panchayat, which had been trapped in a cage set up by the forest department, has been reported.

Local residents, who have been anxious about the presence of the trapped leopard in the vicinity of Nagaradi for the past few days, had provided information to the forest department.

Three days ago, the leopard had been trapped in a cage along with a dog. This morning, a 3-4-year-old male leopard that had been lured by the bait is still confined in the cage. Upon noticing this, the locals informed the forest department.

Officials and local volunteers of the forest department acted promptly and cooperated to rescue the trapped leopard.
