Bridge cum barrage across Netravathi river at Harekala to complete soon : Minister Madhu Swamy

Mangaluru, Nov 25, 2020: State Minister for Minor Irrigation, Law and Parliamentary Affairs J C Madhu Swamy on November 24, Tuesday visited Harekala and inspected the ongoing works of the bridge-cum-barrage (salt water exclusion dam) across Netravathi river near Harekala Kadavu.

Speaking to media men later, the minister said the work has been taken up at an estimated cost of Rs 174 cores and will be conducive to agricultural activities and drinking water supply in the region.

Pointing out that the salt water exclusion dam was a long pending demand of the people of the region, he said the works would be completed very soon.

Mrityunjaya Swami, Secretary of Minor Irrigation Department, officials of the department and contractor G Shanker were present.
