Mangaluru, June 3, 2016: The KEA, Karnataka Examination Authority will start the process of verification of documents and seat allotment for CET, Common Entrance Test candidates at Sahyadri College of Engineering and Management at Adyar near the city from today, June 3, Friday.
Prof Saraswathi B, principal of Government PU College (Bantwal), informed this to media on June 2, Thursday, said a total of eight document verification counters have been opened at Sahyadri College. Prof. Saraswathi, who is also the chief nodal officer for CET 2016 helpline centre, stated that there will be one registration counter with fully experienced document verification officers deputed from the Government PU College. She said there will be one network engineer and a software engineer and 10 computer data entry assistants.
The students attending the document verification process should bring seven original documents and one set of attested photo copies of those documents.
Documents : The seven documents required include: CET application copy, CET hall ticket, SSLC/CBSE marks card, minimum seven years of study certificate (Karnataka), Caste/ income certificate, if claimed, and Kannada medium/rural certificate of 10 continuous years, if claimed, said the principal.
Prof. Saraswathi said more than 6,000 students are expected to attend the document verification process at Sahyadri College. Prof. Sacheth Suvarna, Government PU College (Kavoor) lecturer, who is also the assistant nodal officer, said that students from Dakshina Kannada, Udupi or any other districts can attend the document verification, which will continue till June 20. A helpline will be established to answer the queries of the students soon, he added. There are a total of 14 helpline centres in the state including the one at Sahyadri College in Adyar.
Umesh Bhooshi, Sahyadri College of Engineering and Management principal, said that the college administration is helping the KEA to hold CET document verification process as a part of its Corporate Social Responsibility activities.
