Mangalore, Apr 15, 2012: The Panjimogeru double murder case will be handed over to the Criminal Investigation Department (CID).
It may be recalled that Razia (35), the wife of scrap merchant Hamid and his daughter Zuha (8) were killed in their house at Kulur on June 28, 2011.
All the documents related to this unsolved murder are now with the CID.
Speaking on the case, Seemanth Kumar Singh, the Mangalore police commissioner, said that for the past 9 months the police had used all the resources available to them to crack the case, but had failed. He said that the case was handed over to the CID as proposed by the city police and also because the family of the victims had requested.
Although teams were set up to investigate the case and all angles were thoroughly looked into, the city police failed to crack the case, said the commissioner. The investigation suffered especially because of the transfer of Valentine D’Souza, the then CPI of Panambur and Ananthapadmanabha, the PSI of Kavoor.
