Comparing Indian economy to other economies, he also spoke of the various problems faced by builders just to start a building project. He urged the government to simplify tax structure to make things easier for the building industry.

Speaking about the problems of the real estate industry and its contributions to the national economy, Sushil Mantri said that developers face several tax problems and urged the government to assign a single agency to grant permissions for projects.

CM Jagadish Shettar congratulated CREDAI for organizing this convention and said that the government is mulling over earmarking more funds on housing. Further, he said that the government has already earmarked over Rs. 19,065 crore for infrastructure development in various sectors, adding that this constitutes just 20 percent of the budget. Regarding the state budget, he said that the government will work with CREDAI for the progress of the housing infrastructure.

Speaking on the occasion, Suresh Kumar said that the state government will hold serious discussions with CREDAI regarding the issue of single window agency, stating that this is the reason for delays in getting an approval for a building project.
