CM Siddaramaiah to inaugurate State Olympics in city on January 17

Mangaluru, December 30, 2024: Chief Minister Siddaramaiah will inaugurate the State Olympics to be held in Mangaluru and Udupi from January 17 to 23. The inaugural function will be held at Mangala Stadium, informed Deputy Commissioner Mullai Muhilan.

If 12 events are scheduled to be held in Mangaluru, 11 events will be held in Udupi under the aegis of Karnataka State Olympic Association.

As many as 4000 athletes are likely to take part in the event.

As part of the State Olympics, Basketball and Fencing will be held at US Mallya Indoor Stadium Mannagudda while football and Kho Kho will be held at Nehru Maidan.

Handball, Netball and Volleyball events will be held at Mangala Stadium while the Swimming event will be held at Yemmekere Stadium.

Weightlifting event will be held at Ambedkar Bhavan, Urwastores while Badminton tournaments will be held at Marena Indoor Stadium of KMC Attavar while Wush and Taekwondo events will be held at State Government Employees Hall at Hampankatta.
