Udupi, Aug 01, 2023: Chief Minister Siddaramaiah who visited the sea-erosion affected area of Padubidri on August 1, Tuesday has said that an action plan would be prepared to find a permanent solution to the problem.
Speaking to reporters on the occasion, the Chief Minister said there has been extensive damage in the district due to heavy rainfall. Though permanent sea walls have been constructed at some places, in some other places no such measure has been taken. Efforts would be made to solve the problem, he said.
Officials informed the CM that the rain loss in the district has been estimated at Rs 35 crores. The CM assured on the occasion to release additional grants if required.
Siddaramaiah also visited the Devaraj Urs Backward Classes Post Matric Hostel and interacted with the students.
The students requested the Chief Minister to distribute the sanctioned laptops to them at the earliest.
District in-charge Minister Laxmi Hebbalkar, Deputy Commissioner Vidya Kumari, MLA Gurme Suresh Shetty and others were present.
