Campus Front of India Girls’ Conference : Cops deny permission for jatha

Mangalore Today News Network

Mangaluru, July 16, 2022: A jatha planned by Muslim girl students as part of the Girls’ Conference of the Campus Front of India Karnataka State Committee, was disallowed by the cops today on the grounds that permission was granted only for the conference and not the jatha. But  girls who had converged near the Milagres to take out a jatha were convinced by City Police Commissioner N Shashi Kumar himself and they were then taken to Town Hall, the venue of the conference by bus.

Earlier, when the girls were adamant on taking out the jatha, the Commissioner said in that case permission for the conference too would be cancelled.

Earlier it was planned to take out a jatha from Ambedkar Circle to Town Hall and the same was denied permission. Meanwhile girls had converged near Milagres for the jatha. There was heavy police presence  right from Ambedkar circle and the Commissioner was successful in convincing the girls against holding the jatha.
