Bangalore, July 5, 2014 : Capt. Ganesh Karnik, BJP MLC  who represents the Bangalore South-East Teachers’ Constituency  is the Chief Whip of the BJP in the State Legislative Council.


Ganesh KarnikCapt. Karnik was first elected MLC in 2006 from the South-West Teachers’ Constituency which also includes Dakshina Kannada and Udupi districts among other districts.


He has the credit of duly highlighting the problems of the teachers in the council and also helping in  finding a solution to their problems as well as meeting their demands.


Hailing from Kervashe in Karkala taluk, Capt. Karnik  is a former captain of Indian Army. Before opting for voluntary retirement he was a commissioned officer. He  has   been working for the Nitte Education Trust.
