College student died due to consumption of rat poison, confirms forensic test

Kasargod, Feb 14, 2023: Forensic investigation into the death of a  young girl which was initially suspected to be a case of food poisoning and then confirmed to be a suicide case, has revealed that she had consumed rat poison.

It may be recalled here that Anjushree Parvathi, a student of Manjeshwar Govind Pai  College and a resident of Venur in Perumbala had died at a private hospital in Mangaluru on January 7.

Initially, it was suspected that she had developed health complications after consuming food ordered online. This incident had even led to cancellation of the license of an eatery. But later, it came to light that she had committed suicide after a death note was recovered from her house.

Forensic results have confirmed that she had consumed rat poison.
