Mangalore, Dec 21, 2012: The Dakshina Kannada District Congress Minority Cell organised a protest in front of Deputy Commissioner’s office on December 21, Friday demanding a CBI probe into Panjimogaru double murder case, lawyer Preetham missing case and Shivaraj Kodikere murder case.

Addressing the protestors, Moideen Bawa, the District President of the Congress Minority Cell said that the several earlier protests by various parties and organizations urging the government  to hand over the cases to CBI, has had no impact.

Bawa said though the cases took place during the ministership of Krishna Palemar, he as the district-in-charge minister then, had shown no interest in getting the cases investigated by a higher agency.  Bawa also demanded that Palemar should quit his legislatorship for his failure in this regard.

Speaking on the Panjimogaru double murder case, Kallige Tharnath Shetty said that unknown assailants had knifed Razia(35), wife of Hameed, a scrap dealer and his daughter Zuha(8), at their residence near Kulur-Kavoor road under Kavoor police station limits on June 28, 2011. But, the police department has failed to arrest the murderers and the state government has failed to hand over the case to CBI, he said.

He also said that the Congress Minority Cell will submit a memorandum to the Governor through DC, appealing to handover these three cases to CBI and provide justice to their families.
MLA Vijaykumar Shetty, former MLA Ashraf, KPCC Secretary Ivan D’Souza, Shashidhar Hegde, Kripa Alva and others were present.
