Cops thwart highway dacoity attempt : Eight members of the notorious T.B. Gang arrested

Mangaluru, April 12, 2021:      Police have arrested eight members of the notorious T.B. Gang which  was planning a highway dacoity in  Mangaluru and other parts of the district.  Police have seized two machetes, a dragon knife, eight mobile phones, five monkey caps, three packets of chilli powder and an Innova car from the accused.

Those arrested  are Tausir alias Pattonji Tausir (28) of  Marnamikatte, Mohammad Arafat (29) of Farangipete, Nasir Hussain (37) of Thumbay, Mohammad Rafiq (37) of Pudu,  Mohammad Safwan (25), Mohammad Jainuddin (24) and Mohammad Unaiz (26).

 The gang was trying  to   intercept and rob vehicles   passing through the road at Parari in Ulaibettu village in Mangaluru Rural  Police Station limits on the night of April 11. Their Innova car was parked  on the roadside and the gang was armed with lethal weapons when the CCB cops raided the place and arrested the eight accused.

 The arrested person Pattonji Tausir along with Batish, another notorious criminal in hiding in Saudi Arabia were running this T.B. gang.

It is learnt   Safwan of the gang had given Rs 12 lakhs to Zeeyad of  Melkar who resides in Bengaluru. However as he had not returned the money the gang had reportedly planned to kidnap and kill Zeeyad. However   as they could not find Zeeyad in Bengaluru they had returned to Mangaluru and had planned dacoity.
