December 25: The Bank, as a part to recognize the excellence in a befitting manner, awarded Chairman’s Club Membership to Seven Branch Managers who excelled in various areas of operation and Super Ordinate Goal Award to 39 Officers who excelled in business development during the last fiscal at the Corporate Award Ceremony 2010 organized by the Bank.

 

The Awardees were honoured at the Corporate Award Ceremony 2010 function held in Bangalore on 23rd December 2010. Shri T V Mohandas Pai, Member of the Board & Director [HR], Infosys Technologies Ltd. was the Chief Guest for the occasion. Shri P Vijaya Bhaskar, Regional Director, Reserve Bank of India, Bangalore was the Guest of Honour. Shri Ramnath Pradeep, Chairman & Managing Director of the Bank presided over the function. General Managers, Executives & Employees of the Bank were present on the occasion.

Chairman & Managing Director, Shri Ramnath Pradeep congratulated all the Award winners and said that their achievement is par excellence and their performance will inspire and encourage others to follow the same. He exhorted the Awardees for repeat performance and wanted larger numbers to achieve these kind of awards in the days to come.

Shri T V Mohandas Pai, Member of the Board & Director [HR], Infosys Technologies Ltd. congratulated the winners of Corporate Awards of the Bank and said, "this is a recognition for your efforts; continue to do good work for the bank and see that you and the Bank contributes substantially for the societal change".  He said, “Banks have to leverage technology for expansion and providing world-class service to customers. On HR aspect, Shri Pai said “Retaining talent and empowering employees has become today’s HR challenge for organizations and this issue needs to be addressed”.

Shri P Vijaya Bhaskar, Regional Director, Reserve Bank of India, Bangalore appreciated the growth and performance of Corporation Bank.  He congratulated all the Award winners and said, "Excellence is a journey, not a destination, continue to work hard and achieve higher levels of Excellency". On HR aspect, Shri Bhaskar said, “Be polite with customers – empathize with them”.

Chairman’s Club Award is unique scheme of rewarding Branch Managers for their outstanding performance who excel in multi-goal parameters. A striking feature of the scheme is that it empowers Branch Managers to perform and self evaluate the performance at the end of the year. The scheme is time tested and is in vogue for more than 25 years in the Bank. 

Corporation Bank is the pioneering Public Sector Bank in administering comprehensive rewards under the umbrella of Corporate Awards. Chairman’s Club membership award, the highest corporate recognition and the only multi-goal recognition for branch heads; performance is evaluated across identified five key parameters like Deposit, Credit, NPA Management, Branch Administration and Profit Management with prescribed qualitative and quantitative benchmark level in each. The fact that the concept has been institutionalized in the Bank and the message well conceived and carried forward by unit level functionaries bears testimony to the successful administration of Corporate Awards. Super Ordinate Goal Award, is a single goal scheme, the thrust area is deposit mobilization, growth in average CASA and Clientele expansion for general branches and unit specific specialized areas for other units. The scheme offers good incentive package.
