Corporation Bank wins Banking Technology Awards 2009

Mangalore, Jan 29: Corporation Bank is the proud winner of the Banking Technology Awards 2009 for effective implementation of innovative technologies in its business initiatives under the auspices of the Indian Banks Association (IBA), Finacle, and the Trade Fairs and Conference International (TFCI). Shri B R Bhat, the general manager of Corporation Bank, received the award at the Banking Technology Awards 2009 organized in Mumbai on Jan 28. The bank was selected for this award by a jury of eminent personalities in the banking and technology sectors. 




Corporation Bank has received several awards from reputable organizations such as IDRBT, IBA, and so on in recognition of its excellent implementation of technology over the past years. The bank has also bagged the Winner Award in the Best Online and Multichannel Banking Initiative Category in honor of its achievements in banking technology in 2009. 

In 2007, Corporation Bank became one of the first banks to bring all its functional units under the centralized system of core banking. The bank has also launched innovative products and services such as NEFT (funds transfer) through ATM, Campus Cards, payment of LIC premiums through mobile phones, internet, and ATMs, SMS banking, and so on. 

Corporation Bank is also the first bank in India to launch income tax payments via CorpBank ATMs. The bank also launched prepaid Gift Cards for corporate customers, which can be used at POS terminals. The bank has also issued White Label Credit Cards in association with LIC
