DC honours brave girl Vaibhavi

Mangaluru, September 11, 2024: Deputy Commissioner Mullai Muhilan, on September 10, Tuesday felicitated brave girl Vaibhavi who rescued her mother in a daring act by lifting an overturned autorickshaw under which her mother was trapped. The accident took place at Mulki when Vaibhavi’s mother was crossing the road.

A video of the incident had gone viral and even Chief Minister Siddaramaiah had applauded Vaibhavi for her presence of mind and brave act that saved her mother.

On Tuesday, Deputy Commissioner Mullai Muhilan invited Vaibhavi, a seventh standard student to his office and felicitated her. He also lauded her presence of mind and bravery.

Additional DC Santosh Kumar, Social Welfare Department Deputy Director Hemalatha, Assistant Director Suresh Adiga and family members of Vaibhavi were present.


Elderly man dies after accidentally consuming pesticide

Kundapur: An elderly man died after he accidentally consumed  pesticide instead of a syrup for treatment of his knee pain at his house at Madamakki.

The deceased is Shivaram (74). It is learnt Shivaram faced from vision problem and on August 24 fell ill after he consumed pesticide instead of his medicine. He was rushed to the hospital, but died on September 8.

Amasebail police have registered a case.
