The DC had come to the beach for the inaugural of a cleanliness drive organised by DK District Working Journalists Association and District  Administration as part of Brand Mangaluru initiative.

The DC also  found that a fast food outlet that had come up illegally in front of the public lavatory lacked cleanliness and ordered its immediate closure. The DC was shocked to see rotten vegetables, reuse of the same cooking oil for days and the  use of lavatory to store essential commodities and took the shop owner to task.

He ordered fast food stalls that lacked cleanliness to be sealed immediately.  During the drive, one fast food shop was also found using cabbage to prepare Gobi Manchurian.
