DK authorities on alert after Bird Flu cases in Ballari, Chikkaballapur

Mangaluru, March 1, 2025: Authorities in Dakshina Kannada district are on alert following bird flu outbreak in Ballari and Chikkaballapur districts of the state. A co-ordination committee comprising officials of the Animal Husbandry and Health Department has been formed.

A meeting is scheduled to be held on Saturday to discuss precautionary measures. Speaking about bird flu, District Health and Family Welfare Officer Dr Thimmaiah stressed the need to cook meat properly to ensure all bacteria are destroyed.

The newly formed co-ordination committee would hold awareness programmes, he said.
