Udupi Dec 24,2012: Former chief minister DV Sadananda Gowda has said that the Sakala Scheme was introduced under the Karnataka Guarantee of Services to Citizens Act, during his chief ministership, as part of the party’s election manifesto and was not the achievement of any particular individual.
Speaking after inaugurating the District BJP Convention at Town Hall on December 23, Sunday, Gowda said still some were claiming the implementation of Sakala Scheme as their achievement. At the same time Gowda said a Central team too had come to the state to study the Sakala scheme and added it may also be introduced at the Central level.
Commenting on the claims of former chief minister BS Yeddyurappa that he had implemented several welfare schemes during his tenure as CM, Gowda said all those schemes had been planned by the BJP well in advance and added it was the achievement of the party and not Yeddyurappa.
