Mangaluru, Oct 22, 2022: "There is a great belief in Daivaradhane and Bhootharadhane in Dakshina Kannada and Udupi districts. There is no need to create a controversy in this regard," said Dharmasthala Dharmadhikari and Rajya Sabha Member Dr D Veerendra Heggade.
He was speaking to media persons after watching "Kantara" movie in the city on Friday night along with his family members.
Reacting to questions regarding the statement of actor Chethan that "Daivaradhane is not a practice of Hindu religion," Dr Heggade said "I do not know whether it is part of the religion or not. But it is not proper to speak anything without knowing the tradition of the district. Such practices have evolved over the years. We all have belief in Daivaradhane and there is no need to link it with Dharma," he said.
He appreciated ’Kantara’ movie and congratulated the movie team.
