Aiming to support government schools

This initiative, jointly undertaken by the Dakshina Kannada district administration and Zilla Panchayat, focuses on the development of government schools and improving their infrastructure. Through the portal (https://cf.dakshinakannada.org/), the public can donate towards essential infrastructure such as benches, desks, tables, computers, classrooms, laboratory rooms, compound walls, toilets, kitchens, and auditorium buildings.

Detailed information on schools

The portal provides information on over 350 government schools in Dakshina Kannada district, including specific details about the infrastructure needs of each school. Once a donor selects a school to support through the portal, the relevant authorities will be notified. After verification, the contact details of the school’s headmaster will be shared with the donor, enabling direct communication to fulfill the school’s requirements.

Dr. Anand, CEO of the Zilla Panchayat, emphasized, “Your single contribution can help not only in providing infrastructure but also in shaping the future of children. This initiative is entirely transparent, with all details available on the portal. Every donation will contribute to building a strong and progressive society for future generations.” The portal was developed by students of Alva’s Engineering College.

The launch event was attended by Deputy Commissioner Mullai Mugilan, Zilla Panchayat CEO Dr. Anand, Police Commissioner Anupam Agrawal, and Superintendent of Police Yathish.

Suniel Shetty and Prakash Raj promote the initiative

Bollywood actor Suniel Shetty and Prakash Raj, both hailing from the coastal region, have extended their support to this initiative. They have urged people to join hands, stating, “We are contributing to the development of government schools; you can too.”

This effort provides a platform for citizens to make a lasting impact on the education system and the future of children in Dakshina Kannada.
