Mangaluru, January 22, 2025: Swimmers from Dakshina Kannada and Bengaluru showcased exceptional performances on Day 5 of the Karnataka State Games 2025, organized by the Department of Youth Empowerment and Sports, the Karnataka Olympic Association, and the district administrations of Dakshina Kannada and Udupi. Of the 80 swimmers participating from aquatic clubs across Karnataka, 65 hailed from these regions, solidifying their dominance in the competition.

Key swimming victories included gold medals for Chinthan S Shetty and Pradhi Clare Pinto in the 200m freestyle for men and women, respectively. Other notable winners included SR Rachana Rao (100m breaststroke, women), Namratha Shetty (1,500m freestyle, women), and Surya Jhoyappa Odiyanda Rajesh from Bengaluru South (100m breaststroke, men). Dhruva B from Bengaluru clinched gold in the 1,500m freestyle for men, while Harshavardhan, also from Bengaluru, triumphed in the 200m butterfly. Dhyaan M and Tanmanyi Dharmesh secured victories in the 50m backstroke for men and women, respectively.

    Vijayakumari GK (Bengaluru): Gold in women’s 800m
