Mangalore, Jan 7: Sarojini Madhusudhan Kushe Educational Institution organized its decennial year celebrations in the school auditorium on Jan 7, Thursday.

Shri Bharathi Teertha Swamiji of Shringeri Mutt, who was the chief guest of the event, inaugurated it. He was escorted to the venue in a grand procession. In his benedictory speech, he said that the management of an educational institution is a challenging task. Moreover, it is a powerful duty. One can provide people food, shelter, and other necessities, but the only thing of long-lasting value one can give to others is education. He said that establishing an educational institution is not as great as maintaining it and providing the basic amenities to students during the entire course of their education.

The Swamiji noted that, in most cases, students as well as teachers lose interest in the process of learning. The teachers as well as the students must exhibit interest in furthering their aim much more than the founder of the educational institution. If this happens, nobody can prevent the educational institution from flourishing, he said.

Madhusudhan D Kushe, the founder-president of the school, made the welcome speech; and Vitobha Nagvekar delivered the key-note address. Sarojini D Kushe and Padmashree Gowrishankar were the dignitaries on the dais.
