Dereliction of duty: PU Department Deputy Director Jayanna suspended

Mangaluru, June 01, 2023: Deputy Director of Dakshina Kannada Pre-University Education Department Jayanna C D has been suspended from his post on the charges of dereliction of duty during the recent assembly elections. Dakshina Kannada Deputy Commissioner Ravikumar M R has issued the suspension order.

 

Jayanna has been accused of dereliction during his election duty. However the officer has denied the allegations against him.

 It is learnt that Jayanna was asked to be present during the election preparatory meeting convened by the DC on May 9. However Jayanna had informed the officers concerned that he will not be able to attend the meeting as he was leaving for Bengaluru to submit documents relating to PUC supplementary exams.

Following this he was served notice for dereliction of duty as he had left the district headquarters without permission when election related process was underway.
