Design of new Ambedkar Circle unveiled

Mangaluru, September 19, 2024: The design of the Ambedkar Circle to be constructed by the Mangaluru City Corporation in association with Union Bank of India, was unveiled on Wednesday. The circle will be constructed at a cost of Rs 75 lakhs.

Union Bank of India’s Managing Director Manimeghalai unveiled the design in the presence of outgoing Mayor Sudhir Shetty Kannur and Mangaluru South MLA Vedavyas Kamath.

Mayor Sudhir Shetty said he felt elated to be a part of this project of constructing a circle and a statue of the architect of the constitution Dr B R Ambedkar, on the last day of his office.

Deputy Mayor Sunitha, Opposition leader Praveenchandra Alva, former MLA J R Lobo, former mayor Premanand Shetty, Lolaksha, President of the Federation of the Associations of Scheduled Castes and Tribes and others were present.
