Diesel theft racket busted; 4 arrested

Mangaluru, January 15, 2025: The city police have busted a racket of stealing diesel from the tankers in the tanker yard at Bala village in Mangaluru taluk, and have arrested four persons.

Those arrested are Santosh (42) of Kulaigudde, Ritesh (36) of Katipalla, Narayana (23), a tanker driver from Kadirudyavar and Ravi Janardan Putran (59) of Hejamady.


Theft


Police seized 1685 litres of diesel apart from petrol stocked by the accused and from four mobile phones. In all police seized diesel worth Rs 2,02,000 and petrol worth Rs 1,52,000 from the accused.


The raid followed a tip off. Suratkal police have registered a case.
