Diesel theft racket busted in Shankaranarayana; one arrested, Key accused absconds

Shankaranarayana, March 12, 2025: The Shankaranarayana police have busted a racket involved in stealing diesel from tankers and have arrested a person in connection with the case.

On the night of March 10, based on a tip-off, the police raided a service station at Subbarao Complex in Siddapura village, where diesel was being illegally siphoned from tankers into cans. During the operation, they arrested a man named Jayaram, who was engaged in the theft.

Upon further interrogation of the tanker driver, he revealed that they were stealing 20 liters of diesel from each tanker and supplying it to a person named Vijay in Siddapura. However, Vijay managed to escape.

In connection with the case, the police have seized 1,020 liters of diesel, 30 liters of petrol, three pipes, and a lift motor used for extracting diesel. A case has been registered at the Shankaranarayana police station.
