Mangalore Nov 7: The DK District Congress Committee organized a rally on Nov 7, Saturday to protest against the state government’s failure to help the flood victims of North Karnataka.
A procession, led by State Congress President B Janardhan Poojary, made its way from Jyothi Circle to the street in front of the DC’s office. B Janardhan Poojary made a speech and said that neither Sonia Gandhi nor Manmohan Singh nor himself oppose the work of the state government; but in the near future about five and a half crore people in India are sure to oppose it.
He also stated that the state government has failed to take relief measures for the flood victims of North Karnataka. The BJP, he said, is suffering from an incurable disease and it will burn to ashes in its own unjust acts. Operation Kamala will only lead to disaster as Chief Minister B S Yedyurappa will soon witness.
State Youth Congress President Krishna Byre Gowda said: “When the flood victims of North Karnataka are crying for food, the honorable chief minister is crying for solutions to his own problems in front of the media. The person who is supposed to solve the people’s problem is now busy fighting his own problem.”
Ramanath Rai, Ivan D’Souza, Moideen Bawa, U T Khader, M G Hedge, and other congress leaders participated in the rally.
