Mangaluru, April 16, 2025: Tulasi Maddineni, in-charge Secretary of Dakshina Kannada district, has directed officials to take measures to attract many people towards the several schemes of the government aimed at promoting start-ups.

She was addressing a meeting held at the DC office on Tuesday to review the progress of various departments.

Start-up

She said despite the district having many professional colleges including medical and engineering colleges, there has not been much demand for start-up projects. She asked the DC to create awareness programmes on start-up schemes in collaboration with professional educational institutions.

Deputy Commissioner Mullai Muhilan said already an agreement has been signed with NITK with regard to patronizing start-ups and hoped more start-ups would come up in the days to come.

ZP CEO Dr K Anand, Additional DC Dr Santosh Kumar and others were present.
