Mangalore, Tuesday 11: Subhod Yadav, Deputy Commissioner, Dakshina Kannada district, inaugurated the two day district police sports meet at police ground at Pandeshwar on Tuesday, January 11. The event was inaugurated by releasing the balloons.

Speaking on the occasion DC Shubhod Yadav appraised the hard work of district police in controlling any untoward incidents happening in the coastal region. The district police have succeeded to gain good name in the region through an excellent rapport with public. He recalled the high security measures provided at the time of Prathibha Patil’s, the president of India, visit to Mangalore as well as at the time of Zilla and taluk panchayat elections and Hindu Samajothsava. No complaint has been registered when the three major incidents took place, he added.


In his welcome speech, Seemanth Kumar Singh, Mangalore City Police Commissioner, urged the police personnel to develop sportsmanship and competitiveness by taking part in sports and games related activities. 


DK SP A Subrahmanyeshwara Rao said that sports meet help in uniting police personnel’s working across the district.  


Police personnel from district Armed Reserve Police, Mangalore City, Panambur Subdivision, Puttur Sub Division and Women Police took part in the various games like relay, high jump, long jump, shot-put, discuss throw, javelin throw, tug-of-war etc.


The valedictory function will be held on Tuesday, January 11.
