Karkala, January 11, 2025: Tamil Nadu BJP President K Annamalai has said that there is suspicion around the recent surrender of Naxals in Karnataka. He also alleged that the surrender process was done for political mileage.
Speaking to media persons here on Saturday, Annamalai said the surrender process of Naxals is an elaborate process with some conditions. In this backdrop there is some suspicion regarding the recent surrender of Naxals and also the encounter of Naxal leader Vikram Gowda.
The government is saying that the Naxals surrendered following the encounter. There is a suspicion if the government is misusing the internal rift among Naxal groups, he said.
He said he was part of the Naxal surrender process when he was the SP of Chikkamagalur and as per rules they have to surrender before the Deputy Commissioner and SP following which other processes are done. However in Karnataka the surrender process was done for political mileage he alleged and suspected the influence of Naxal supporters on the government.
He also said there is the danger of the surrendered Naxals influencing the society.
