Dr. Rajesh K. M. bags Scientist of the Year 2010 Award

Mangalore, November 4: The Scientist of the Year 2010 award has been conferred on Dr. Rajesh K. M., the assistant professor at Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Kankanady.

The National Environmental Science (NESA) of New Delhi is conferring this award on Dr. Rajesh K. M. in recognition of his achievements in research, teaching, and extension in fisheries science. The award will be conferred on the occasion of the 23rd International Conference of the NESA Academy, which is scheduled to be held at Jamia Hamdard University of New Delhi on Dec 27 – 19, 2010.

Dr. Rajesh won the gold medal for his Ph.D. research in aquaculture from the University of Agricultural Sciences in Bangalore in 2002. He has associated with a number of research and extension projects from the past 13 years and has published over 50 scientific research articles in international and national journals.

Currently, he is organizing training programmes for officers of developmental departments and extension personnel of NGOs and is involved in the transferring of approved scientific technologies of the universities through on-farm testing and front-line demonstrations in the farmer fields of DK for their uplift.
