Mangaluru, Nov 12, 2021: Founder of Guru Computers and Chief executive officer of Glowtouch Technology and Diya Systems passed away early morning on Friday, November 12, 2021. He was 74. He is survived by his wife, son and a daughter.
Dr. Ravichandran had undergone brain surgery two years ago and was at his daughter’s place in Louisville Kentucky,USA. His wife, Indira, daughter Vidya and son Hari were by his side when the end came.
He is a successful serial entrepreneur with more than 40 years of industry experience in the technology area. He has founded and grown several technology services and technology education companies over his long career.
He oversees the company’s expansive state-of-the-art development center of 1500+ members in Mangalore, India, in addition to overseeing the management team. Dr. Ravichandran’s progressive management practices make him an influential and beloved figure in the organization and the community at large.
His other community involvements include organizing a large scale effort to combat poverty and hunger and delivering healthcare solutions and educational opportunities to the economically challenged people of the area. He closely associated with Akshaya Patra Foundation
He started career as a Professor at St. Philomena’s College, Puttur in the year 1970 and served at the Institution for nearly 3 decades before retiring in the year 1999. After retirement, engaged into active entrepreneurship and started several successful business ventures such as Publications and IT Companies. Started Diya Systems in 2003 to provide services mainly in the BPO space
Established GlowTouch Technologies in the year 2004 to focus on software development services for mid-market U.S and U.K clients. Merged Diya Systems and GlowTouch Technologies as a single entity bringing about an amalgamation of key products and services.
An active Philanthropist, who believes in serving the underprivileged people of the Society and empowering them with Education, Health assistance, Employment Opportunities and other basic needs. Started GT Foundation in the year 2004 with the same intent and actively involved with the philanthropic services as a Managing Trustee of the Foundation. He is a Professor Emeritus of St. Philomena College, Puttur. He is member of the Rotary Club of Mangalore since year 2000.
He is the recipient of many awards and citations including Bharatiya Udyog Ratan Award, Eminent Aloysian Alumni Award, MMA-KVK Outstanding Manager Award and Spandana Entrepreneur of the Year Award 2016.
