Mangalore, Jan 24, 2014: City based Paediatrician Dr. Shivaram Rai has been installed as the President of Indian Academy of Pediatrics (I.A.P.), D.K. Unit held at Eden Club on Jan 23, Thursday.

Eminent Senior Paediatrician and Former Dean of Father Muller Medical College, Mangalore Prof. Dr. B. Sanjeeva Rai was the chief guest and Installation Officer on this occasion. He advised the newly elected President Dr. Shivaram Rai to put forth his best efforts in developing the academy by organizing more CME and workshops and strengthening the organization by inducting new members and he wished every success in his future endeavours. 

 

 

 

Dr. Shivaram Rai in his presidential address presented a detailed plan and programme drawn by him during his tenure and assured to publish a Directory of Members for the first time. 

On this occasion, Consultant Paediatric Haemato Oncology, KMC Hospital, Mangalore Dr. Harsha Prasada delivered a guest lecture on “Childhood Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia – An Update”. 

Outgoing secretary Dr. Kiran Baliga proposed a vote of thanks. Secretary Dr. Ashvij Shriyan coordinated. Dr. Aswathy Rajan compered the programme.
