Drugs peddler arrested in Mulki; 6.7 kg ganja seized

Mangaluru, December 14, 2024: Acting on a tip off, CCB police have arrested a man on the charges of drugs peddling in Mulki-Bappanadu area. Police seized 6.7 kg ganja from him. He was reportedly procuring ganja from Maharashtra and was selling the same to the public.
The arrested man is Akhilesh Shetty (30) of Ambalpady in Udupi. The value of the seized ganja is Rs 1.62 lakhs. Police have also seized mobile phone and Rs 660 cash from the accused.
Investigations revealed that the accused used to transport ganja by train from Mumbai. He already has six cases against him in different police stations.
