Udupi, January 21, 2025: The Principal District and Sessions Court of Udupi has sentenced a man arrested in drugs peddling case, to two and a half years of rigorous imprisonment and has slapped a penalty of Rs 20,000 on him.
The person proved guilty is Akhilesh Shetty (25) of Ambalpady. He was arrested by the police while he was selling drugs at Kadekar village in July 2016. Police had seized 150 kg ganja from him. A case was registered in Malpe police station.
The case was probed by Udupi Circle Inspector T R Jayashanker who subsequently filed the chargesheet. After hearing the case the court pronounced Akhilesh as guilty.
