Election duty staff attempts suicide at DC office premises; hospitalized

Mangaluru, Apr 02, 2024: A government employee on election duty attempted suicide at the DC office premises on April 2, Tuesday. He was immediately rushed to Wenlock Hospital and is being treated at the ICU where his condition is said to be stable.

 

The person who attempted suicide is Sridhar Hegde.  Personal reasons are said to be the reason behind the suicide attempt. He is a member of the single window system at the District Election Officer’s office.

Sridhar has served as the Panchayat Development Officer at Kadirudyavar Panchayat limits of Belthangady since 2019 and was transferred this year. He was anticipating a posting since February.

ZP CEO Dr Anand, Additional DC Dr Santosh Kumar, District Health and Family Welfare officer Dr Timmaiah and others ensured immediate medical attention to Sridhar. ZP CEO Dr Anand and Additional DC Dr Santosh Kumar also spoke to the wife and family members of Sridhar Hegde.
