They demanded that the company must ensure that the e-auto drivers do not face any problems and that the autos must be repaired on time. They also demanded sufficient stock of spare parts and adherence to warranty rules. The harassment of e-auto drivers by the agency must end, they demanded.

The Committee President Anil Saldanha Pachanady said the company had promised a three year guarantee for the autorickshaws purchased at a cost of Rs 3.5 lakhs. But the vehicles are developing snags within a year. Though the autos are repaired at the service station at Baikampady, the problems are recurring. This has hit hard the earnings of the drivers, he alleged.

Even the subsidy from the Centre, is not reaching the drivers regularly, he said and added requests in this regard have been futile.

Several office bearers of the committee and e-auto drivers participated in the protest.
