Mangaluru, Mar 9, 2025: The Eminent Aloysian Alumni Award 2025 was hosted on March 8 at Fr LF Rasquinha Hall, St Aloysius (Deemed to be University), by the rector and management of St Aloysius institutions in collaboration with the St Aloysius College Alumni Association.

Vice Chancellor Dr. Praveen Martis lauded the honorees, saying, “Today, five extraordinary achievers are being recognized for their inspiring contributions and passion for serving humanity.” He also highlighted the institution’s growth, announcing plans to establish a School of Law by 2025 and an engineering program, with new buildings under construction at Centenary Grounds.

Rector Fr. Melwin Pinto expressed pride in the awardees, remarking, “Your success fills us with pride. You dreamed big and persevered through challenges.”

The prestigious awards were presented to:vKanyadi Sadashiva Shetty, president of Heramba Industries Limited; Lucy Mariappa, CIO of the Year awardee; Gurukiran, renowned music director; Dr. Oscar G Concessao, international award-winning architect and James Vincent Mendonca, entrepreneur and philanthropist.

The awardees shared heartfelt reflections on their journey and the values instilled by their alma mater. Gurukiran credited the college for laying the foundation for his achievements, while Lucy Mariappa and James Vincent Mendonca spoke of the discipline and integrity nurtured at St Aloysius.

The event commenced with a welcome address by convenor NG Mohan and concluded with a vote of thanks by Alumni Association president Anil Kumar.
