Mangaluru, August 24, 2024: On Sunday, August 25, the Expert Pre-University College in Valachil, Mangalore, is organizing the "Expert Master Chef Competition - 2024," a unique culinary competition for students and parents. Each team will consist of three students and one parent, who will prepare dishes on-site.

The event will be inaugurated by Ms. Vatika Pai, owner of Nirmala International Travels. Dr. Ushaprabha N. Nayak, Vice President of the Expert Group of Educational Institutions, will preside over the event. Other notable participants include Dinesh Palliyil, Managing Director of Spices N Chefs, trustee Ustad Rafiq Khan, and Dr. N.K. Vijayan Karippal, the college principal. The keynote address will be delivered by Ankush N. Nayak, Director of the IT Division.

The judging panel will feature Dr. Vishwas K. Pai, an ENT and Head and Neck Surgeon at A.J. Hospital and Research Centre, Dr. Rahul Bhat, Assistant Professor at Nitte Institute of Hospitality Services, Dr. Rahul Kunnath, ENT Surgeon at KMC and Wenlock, Swati Anand Shetty, a teacher at St. Aloysius Senior Primary School and a coordinator of various cooking programs, and Subhash Praveen Ullal, a hotel entrepreneur.

This is a unique event where teams comprising three students and one parent will prepare dishes on-site. The competition, which has been successfully organized for the past two years, will feature several rounds, with the final round concluding the event.

All ingredients required for the dishes will be provided at the venue. The student teams will select the ingredients they need and prepare the dishes within a stipulated time. A panel of four judges will evaluate the dishes based on various criteria such as preparation, quality, and taste to determine the winners.
