Mangaluru, September 18, 2024: An expert team from Bengaluru has inspected the Maravoor bridge in the city on Tuesday. It may be recalled here that vehicular movement on the bridge has been restricted since the second week of June after one of the pillars of the bridge was found damaged.
During the inspection the experts using a large crane inspected the portion beneath the bridge and also collected its concrete samples to assess its strength.
The team is expected to submit its report to the Deputy Commissioner following which a decision on reopening the bridge for traffic will be taken.
The expert team has already inspected the Ulaibettu, Balkunje and Polali bridges.
