Mangalore, June 22: Senior officials of the Agriculture Department raided a Horticulture Department godown at Bendoorwell on June 22, Tuesday. The team was led by Chief Accounts Officer of Agriculture Department Thimmapa.
The team found several products, including composts and pesticides, which had crossed their expiry dates. Thimmappa told reporters that an inquiry is currently being made on the quantity of pesticides brought from the department and the quantity distributed to farmers, following which a detailed report will be submitted to the chief executive officer.
Deputy Director of the Department of Horticulture Hema did not give any statement to the media.
Joint Director of the Department of Agriculture Padmayya Naik, Assistant Horticultural Officer Chennarase Gowda, and many others were present.
