Extended Mangaluru-Kabaka Puttur-Subrahmanya Road passenger trains to be made operational this month, says MP

Mangaluru, March 13, 2025: The extended two passenger train services between Mangaluru and Kabaka Puttur to Subrahmanya Road (SBHR) will be made operational within this month (March), according to Capt. Brijesh Chowta, MP, Dakshina Kannada.

The Railway Ministry approved the extension on February 25.

Capt. Chowta said that he met V. Somanna, Minister of State for Railways in Delhi on Wednesday and conveyed gratitude on behalf of all people of Dakshina Kannada for facilitating the extension of trains.

He also invited him to flag off the much sought train services sometime this month at the earliest convenient date.

The MP said that he also thanked the Railway Board, Southern Railway and South Western Railway officials for facilitating the extension.  

At present, Train No. 56625 and 56627 leave Mangaluru Central at 5.10 a.m. and 6 p.m., respectively, to reach Kabaka Puttur at 6.40 a.m. and 7.25 p.m.

Train No. 56626 and 56628 leave Kabaka Puttur at 7.55 a.m. and 8.25 p.m. to reach Mangaluru Central at 9.25 a.m. and 10.05 p.m., respectively.

In between, the Railways operates one service between Mangaluru Central and SBHR wherein Train No. 56629 leaves Central at 10 a.m. to reach SBHR at 12.30 p.m. and Train No. 56630 leaves SBHR at 1.45 p.m. to reach Central at 4.25 p.m.

As per the Ministry’s order, Train No. 56625 would depart Mangaluru Central at 4 a.m. to reach Kabaka Puttur at 5.18 a.m. and SBHR at 6.30 a.m. Train No. 56626 leaves SBHR at 7 a.m. and Kabaka Puttur at 7.50 a.m. to reach Central at 9.30 a.m. Train No. 56627 departs Central at 5.45 p.m. and Kabaka Puttur at 7.05 p.m. to reach SBHR at 8.10 p.m. Train No. 56628 leaves SBHR at 8.40 p.m. and Kabaka Puttur at 9.30 p.m. to reach Central at 11.10 p.m.

The train would halt at Bajakare, Kodiambala, Yedamangala, Kaniyur, Narimogaru, Kabaka Puttur, Neralakatte, Bantwal and Mangaluru Junction. Southern and South Western Railway were told to fix an early date for the extension.
